Activities and Fun for the Whole Family
The BBQ Contest: This Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned BBQ competition (the largest in WV) normally hosts nearly 3 dozen of the best BBQ teams from 16 states in a 4-meat competition, along with some fun "extra" categories to challenge the top-rated Pitmasters.
*** Please note BBQ competitors can NOT sell their BBQ due to local health dept. regulations, but there are several great BBQ food vendors ready to satisfy your BBQ cravings!
FAMILY FUN: Bring the whole family to enjoy FREE sand art, extreme balloon sculptures, and other activities for all ages. Browse Artists and Crafters offering unique hand-crafted items with many providing demonstrations of their work during the event.
LEGO FUN: This year's theme will feature lots of new activities featuring Lego brick building contests, a Lego "Make & Take" area (FREE), Lego displays, demos, and hands-on workshops with Lego Master Builders (limited space available). Discussions of a possible Scavenger Hunt with giant Lego bricks around the downtown area, and lots more ideas in process.
HUNGRY? Food vendors will be serving award-winning BBQ, homemade ice cream, kettle corn, deep-fried "everything", freshly made pizza, frozen lemonade (Zul's), funnel cake, Italian sausage & Rib-Eye sandwiches, specialty tacos, made-on site donuts and deep-friend calzones, WV Pepperoni rolls, Smoked Mac & Cheese, Southern Collard Greens, homemade cornbread, and more. There's definitely something delicious for everyone!
Artists and Crafters: Enjoy a great variety of hand-crafted jewelry, soaps, wood items, pet products, kitchen utensils, wind chimes, dip and sauce mixes, freeze-dried fruits & candies, delicious sweet treats, decorative home and exterior items, and many other homemade items.
Laurel Fork Falconry: Featuring rescued and falconry Birds of Prey and learn from a Master Class Falconer. Friday & Saturday - Noon - 4:00 PM with special falconry demonstrations during the day.
Gilbert's World of Wonder: Enjoy watching this championship balloon artist create some over the top designs ... purchase your favorite creation to take home! View some of his designs on his Facebook page.
"FREE" SAND ART for the Kiddos on Friday & Saturday - times will be posted closer to event dates.

LIVE Entertainment: Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy some great tunes from different performers each day, with our featured entertainer and winner of Season 11 "America's Got Talent", WV native Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. hitting the main stage in Jawbone Park at 5:30 PM on Saturday, June 20th ... and it's all FREE!!!
